Brindlecroft Home online store (fictional product): example Accessibility Conformance Report

Example report for a fictional product. 50 criteria reported at Levels A and AA (WCAG 2.1 rows): 24 Supports, 20 Partially Supports, 2 Does Not Support, 4 Not Applicable. The gaps that matter most are the carousel and background video that cannot be paused, care instructions published as images of text, the image CAPTCHA and the untagged assembly PDFs reported under clause 10.

Example only. Brindlecroft Home online store (fictional product) is a made-up product, and every finding below is invented to show how a filled report reads. It is not a report on any real product.

Product
Online store
Scope
Example report for an invented retailer; Brindlecroft Home does not exist. Covers the homeware store at shop.brindlecroft.example in its English, German and French versions as released on 2026-10-28: home page, category and search results with filters, product pages, basket, checkout up to the hand-off to the payment provider, account creation and sign-in, order history, returns, help pages and the downloadable PDFs linked from product pages. The hosted payment page and the third-party chat widget are out of scope. Standards covered: WCAG 2.1 Levels A and AA, and EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03).
Evaluation methods
Manual testing of every page type and of the complete purchase, account and returns processes by an accessibility tester and a member of the store team. Keyboard only; NVDA with Firefox, JAWS with Chrome, VoiceOver on iOS with Safari and TalkBack on Android with Chrome; zoom to 400 percent; text spacing overrides. Automated checks with axe-core on 60 sampled pages. PDF documents checked with a PDF/UA validator and by reading order in a screen reader.
What it shows
Clause 9 of EN 301 549 is answered through the WCAG tables, so most of the work is the WCAG 2.1 rows; the EN 301 549 clauses that matter for a store are 10 (the PDFs) and 12 (support). The Notes say which version of EN 301 549 the report covers, because V4.1.1 now exists and a European buyer may ask about it.
