Ostervale Permits 3.6 (fictional product): example Accessibility Conformance Report

Example report for a fictional product. 56 criteria reported at Levels A and AA (WCAG 2.2 rows): 38 Supports, 10 Partially Supports, 3 Does Not Support, 5 Not Applicable. Every Does Not Support row comes from the uncaptioned, undescribed help videos; the application flow itself has only partial gaps, chiefly the colour-only inspection calendar and unannounced upload status.

Example only. Ostervale Permits 3.6 (fictional product) is a made-up product, and every finding below is invented to show how a filled report reads. It is not a report on any real product.

Product
City permit portal
Scope
Example report for an invented product; Ostervale Permits and its vendor do not exist. Covers the public applicant portal of version 3.6, sold to city governments in the US and the EU, as configured on the demonstration site permits.ostervale.example in English and Spanish: account creation and sign-in, the application wizard for building, sign and event permits, parcel selection on the map, document upload, fee summary, inspection booking, application status and the permit PDFs the portal issues. The hosted payment page and the staff back office (reported separately) are out of scope. Standards covered: WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Levels A and AA, the Revised Section 508 Standards, and EN 301 549 V3.2.1.
Evaluation methods
Manual testing of every wizard step and of complete applications for each permit type, by two testers, one of whom uses a screen reader daily. Keyboard only; JAWS and NVDA with Chrome and Edge; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android; Dragon voice control; zoom to 400 percent and a 320 CSS pixel viewport. Automated checks with axe-core. Issued permit PDFs checked with a PDF/UA validator.
What it shows
In the INT edition one set of WCAG rows answers three standards, and the rows marked 2.2 only do not apply to Section 508 or EN 301 549 V3.2.1. The failures here are all in one place, the help videos, which shows how a single content gap can account for every Does Not Support in an otherwise solid report.
